Simonetta Cheli is Director of Earth Observation Programmes and Head of ESA ESRIN establishment at the European Space Agency (ESA).
Prior to her nomination she worked within ESA in International Relations, Strategy and Head of Public and Institutional Relations and Head of the EO Strategy, Programme Planning and Coordination Office.
She has a degree in Political Sciences: International Law in the field of Direct Broadcasting Satellites, and a Master Degree In Diplomatic and Strategic Studies.
She is a member of various international committees, lectures for international courses and has received numerous awards.
