President, Foundation for studies and Research on International Development (FERDI)
Patrick Guillaumont is the Président of the Fondation pour les Etudes et Recherches sur le Développement International (FERDI), he founded in 2003. He is emeritus professor at the University of Clermont Auvergne. He aso fouded CERDI (Centre d'Etudes et de Recherches sur le Développement International) and the Revue d'Economie du Développement.
He was a member of the UN Committee for Development Policy (CDP) from 1987 to 2009, where he chaired various working groups on the identification of Least Developed Countries (LDCs). He has worked for many international institutions and foreign governments and has published more than twenty books and 200 articles, mainly on development, many papers published in major developmen journals.
His recent work is mainly about the allocation of official development assistance and vulnerabilities. His latest books include Out of the trap. Supporting the least developed countries 2019, Measuring vulnerabilities to improve aid allocation, especially in Africa (2020) and the works quoted in the text.
