Dr Vidya Diwakar leads a suite of mixed methods studies on poverty dynamics, vulnerability and inequality reduction. Her work focuses on gender-disaggregated drivers of poverty escapes, armed conflict and intersecting crises as drivers of poverty traps, and the role of multi-sectoral programming in supporting sustained poverty reduction. Vidya has successfully fundraised for and led a range of large multi-country policy-oriented research and evaluation studies on poverty dynamics in sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and South East Asia for international organizations and bi-lateral aid agencies.
