Miguel Ruiz Cabañas Izquierdo

Ambassador Miguel Ruiz Cabañas Izquierdo is Director of the SDGs Initiative at Tecnológico de Monterrey and Co-Chair of the Mexican chapter of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN Mexico). He is a career diplomat (Ambassador) and has served as Mexico’s Ambassador in Japan, Italy, and Permanent Representative to the International Organizations based in Rome (FAO, IFAD and WFP). He also served as Undersecretary for Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights (2015-2018). He holds a degree in International Relations from El Colegio de México (1974-1978) and a master’s degree in Political Science from Columbia University in New York (1986-1988).
