Dolors Armenteras

Co-Chair, Science Panel for the Amazon

Dolors Armenteras is a Full Professor of Landscape Ecology at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. She focuses on conservation and sustainable use of tropical forests, including research on fire ecology, deforestation, forest degradation, modelling, and forest management. She was a Fulbright Regional Network for Applied Research (NEXUS) Climate Change and Biodiversity Scholar, and has been part of several UNEP GEOs, collaborated with the World Conservation Monitoring Center in Cambridge, UK, participated the Millenium Ecosystem Assessment, and was an expert in the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services-IPBES. She currently serves as Vice-President International Association of Landscape Ecology IALE and as from September 2022 is the new Co Chair of the Scientific Panel for the Amazon.
