Associate Scientist, Equitable Transitions program

Anisha Nazareth is an Associate Scientist with the Equitable Transitions program. Most of her work focuses on the interactions between climate crises and global and local inequalities. She uses political ecology, political economy and critical climate justice framings to understand the power dynamics that create and maintain injustices in climate governance and climate action. Anisha has contributed to SEI’s work on carbon inequality, exploring how different income groups make starkly different contributions to global carbon emissions. Along with Zoha Shawoo and Dayoon Kim she has also studied equity in the international climate space: the impact of the pandemic on equitable climate negotiations and the equity implications of prominent anti-fossil fuel norms.
