Dr Angelos Plataniotis holds a PhD in the Economics of Sustainable Development, with a research profile at the intersection of sustainability economics, ESG integration, and climate-related risk analysis. His academic work focuses on the evaluation of sustainability policies and the alignment of the European Green Deal with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He has experience in applied research and policy-oriented analysis, actively contributing to large-scale European research initiatives funded under Horizon Europe, Horizon 2020, LIFE, PRIMA, and ERASMUS programmes. He collaborates with leading research networks and institutions, including AE4RIA, ATHENA Research Center, SDSN Greece, and Research Laboratory on Socio-Economic and Environmental Sustainability (ReSEES) at Athens University of Economics and Business. Alongside his research activities, he serves as an Insurance Supervisor at the Bank of Greece, bringing strong policy relevance and real-world applicability to his academic work.
