Angela Kariuki is a Legal Officer in UNEP’s Law Division and interim team lead of the InforMEA Initiative. She previously served as Intergovernmental Affairs Officer in UNEP’s New York Office, supporting UNEP’s engagement in processes such as the Summit of the Future and the Secretary-General’s Panel on Critical Energy Transition Minerals. Earlier, as Programme Management Officer (Legal) in the Frontiers in Environmental Law Unit, she advanced work on Environmental Human Rights Defenders and UNEA resolutions on minerals and governance. Before joining the UN, Angela worked in South Africa, including at the Human Rights Commission on mining and environmental rights.
