Adriana E. Abdenur

Co-President, Global Fund for a New Economy; former Special Advisor on international affairs, Brazilian Presidency; member, G20 Extraordinary Committee of Independent Experts on Global Inequality

Adriana Abdenur is Co-President of the Global Fund for a New Economy (GFNE). Between 2023 and 2005 she was Special Advisor in international affairs in the office of President Lula. A Brazilian policymaker and scholar, she co-founded Plataforma CIPÓ, a think tank headquartered in Rio de Janeiro. Dr Abdenur earned a Ph.D. from Princeton University and has published widely on global governance and sustainable development. In August 2025, she was appointed to the G20 Extraordinary Committee of Independent Experts on Global Inequality.
